GateHub, a cryptocurrency wallet service, has suffered a significant data breach, according to Troy Hunt of Have I Been Pwned. The personal information of 1.4 million users has been posted on the Dark Web. The leaked data includes email addresses, passwords, MFA keys, and wallet hashes.
This information has come to light almost four months after GateHub first announced that they were the victim of a cyber attack. They released a statement on July 19th, in which they claimed that hackers gained unauthorized access to databases using access tokens. However, in their statement, they claimed that only 18,473 accounts were affected. This new information now reveals that the breach was much larger than previously thought.
